Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 just dropped, with new weapons, customisation options, a battle pass and changes to Warzone. We’re going to be breaking it all down here.
More Firepower
In the new Modern Warfare Season 3 update you can expect a couple of free significant upgrades to your current arsenal. When downloaded, the update will give you access to two new guns to use in the multiplayer (provided you bought the battle pass). The SK Sierra — “A lightweight, semi-auto marksman rifle with an impressive fire rate for its class.” And the Renetti — “An unassuming, yet lethal pistol that excels in close-range combat.”
Activision have also said that there will be a new weapon coming later in Season 3, which seems to be some sort of LMG.
Operators and Customisation
There’s also going to be immediate opportunities for customisation, with more coming. Three new operators, Alex (the same from Modern Warfare’s campaign — he’s alive), and Ronin & Iksra later in the season. Players can also expect new unlock-able skins for their vehicles in Warzone and a slew of new Legendary and Epic Operator skins.
New Battle Pass
As expected, Season 3 brings a new battle pass along with it. It comes in at 1000CP, but you can gain up to 1300CP back by getting to tier 98 this season. Included in the pass you get the instant unlock of the new operator Alex, weapon blueprints, operator skins, XP and Weapon Xp tokens, and access to 100 tiers of free unlock-ables.
Maps and Modes
The new season also sees 3 new maps coming immediately to Modern Warfare. Talsik Backlot (Backlot from the original Modern Warfare), Hovec Sawmill and Aniyah Incursion. Down the line of Season 3 we can also expect to see some new game modes in Gun Game Reloaded and Reinfected Ground War. On top of that Warzone has received an overhaul, as upcoming shotgun/sniper only mode called Scopes and Scatterguns is on the way. Squads have also been changed from 3 to 4, to mixed appeal.
Players can also expect continued updates, fixes, and free content throughout Modern Warfare Season 3, with Activision releasing a roadmap of what’s to come.
Most notably players can expect a new gunfight map in Aisle 9, and another new multiplayer map Hardhat (originally from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3).
Players should be ready for Modern Warfare to keep up its push for new free content and updates, with loads more to come in Season 3.
